goal of the season against Walsall, but with Crewe trying to hold on, the Canada International had to be withdrawn after 74 minutes, as he began to tire.thSteve Davis says Saturday’s goalscorer Marcus Haber had given everything he had before he had to be replaced by the fresher legs of Ryan Colclough. As a target man Haber was certainly one of Crewe Alexandra’s better players on Saturday but the boss says he had to make the decision to substitute him as they couldn’t carry him for the remaining minutes.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I didn’t take Marcus off for tactical reasons. It was to do with his physical state. He had given us everything he had and when he was out there he was excellent for us, but we had been carrying him for 10/15 minutes and we couldn’t carry on doing that.
