Steve Davis is hopeful that winger will shake off ankle knock to travel

Crewe Alexandra winger Ryan Colclough has suffered some bruising around his ankle but the club are hopeful that the talented 20 year-old will be fit enough to travel to Peterborough for tomorrow night’s match.

Colclough started his first game for over 18 months against Leyton Orient on Saturday after overcoming a problematic hernia and hip problem. He completed 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw with the O’s.

Steve Davis explained to crewealex.net: “Ryan has some bruising around his ankle so he is a doubt but we are hopeful he will be fit enough to travel.

“Most managers would have taken Ryan off with 20 minutes to go because he was out on his feet but I just thought he was the most likely player to produce something for us. It was worth the gamble.

“He created some chances for us and had a few shots himself and looked the most likely for us so hopefully he can continue in that vein of form until the end of the season.”
