20 April 2015

Alex hoping for boost ahead of this weekend's clash at Coventry.

Crewe Alexandra are hoping to receive a boost ahead of this weekend’s trip to Coventry City with the news that the Jamie Ness and Matt Tootle have a chance of resuming training this week.

Tootle, who would have started against Walsall last weekend picked up a slight knock in the Under-21 fixture against Sheffield Wednesday thus ruling him out of the home game. Tootle has not featured for the first team since October but was named on the substitutes’ bench for the recent trip to Peterborough.

Meanwhile, on-loan Stoke midfielder Jamie Ness has missed the club’s last two fixtures with a calf strain. The Scot has received treatment from his parent club last week and is hopeful of returning to training this week.

Crewe are without Alan Tate (ankle) and Chris Atkinson (shoulder) are they picked up recent injuries.
