Davis says previous month has now gone as he prepares for new beginning

Steve Davis is hopeful that his Crewe Alexandra team can put a disappointing August behind them and begin to make a vast improvement in terms of results in September. The Alex boss is hopeful that our first league points of the season can come under perfect circumstances against our local neighbours Port Vale this weekend.

The Crewe Alexandra manager remains upbeat and says that the spirit within the camp is still high. Steve says that a closer unit in the dressing room gives us the perfect chance to turn our season around sooner rather than later.

Steve told crewealex.net: “There is still very good atmosphere around the place and I stand by the fact that it is much better than where we were last season with everything that was going on at the time.

“I have a lot of belief in this team and have 100% faith in them to turn things around. We are remaining positive. It is still very early on in the season and hopefully our positivity will rub off on others. We are all in this together.

“When you lose a game, you are deflated and down that night, or weekend but you have to quickly move on. You have to because there is another game quickly upon you.

“You always have that next day and next game and I’m always quickly planning for the next one. It is the same when we win a game and are on a decent run. It is about having that balance and not getting too high when you win or to despondent when you lose.

“Everyone here is focussed on the Vale game. What has gone on last month has gone now and we have to look forward. “
