Alex boss pleased to add extra option to his attack
Steve Davis is delighted to have beaten off competition from other clubs to secure the services of forward Febian Brandy on a month’s loan. The Rotherham United winger has joined the club initially on a one-month loan and the number 29 goes straight into the Crewe Alexandra squad to travel to MK Dons.
Davis has been chasing reinforcements in the forward positions since the summer and the signing of Brandy will not be the end of his recruitment. The Crewe boss is still working on bringing in another forward to supplement his squad.
Davis told the club’s official web-site: “I was pleased to get another forward in and I was pleased that we have managed to get Febian on loan for a month. There were a few other clubs interested in taking him but he is a Manchester lad and wanted to come here and play some games.
“Steve (Evans) was eager for Febian to go out and play some games and he was very good with us in getting the deal done.
“We have him for a month initially and he gives us more options with his versatility. He can play on both sides, off the front or right up there. He creates chances and has scored some goals. He is a player we knew about for a while, he has played well against us and he is proven in this league.
He added: “He has experience of League One and he knows what to expect. He has done well at clubs at this level before, like Notts County and Walsall and can be a thorn in the side of defenders.”
