Guthrie Buoyant Ahead of Crawley

Defender admits recent form has breathed confidence into camp

Jon Guthrie can’t wait to get going this weekend and hopes to return from the long trip to Crawley with a maximum haul.

Guthrie hasn’t featured in recent weeks, but a spout of illness, injury and suspension in the camp may see the defender re-instated.

Having won three of the last four, the Alex are in buoyant mood currently and despite Crawley having some dangerous players like former MK Dons man Izale McLeod, Guthers is just focusing on getting down there and putting on performance.

He told Crewe Alex Player: “We’re going into games a lot more confident now, thinking positively and we’re going for the win.

“Everyone knows he’s a good player (McLeod). He’s guaranteed to get you goals in this division, I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s kicking but you can’t just focus on one player you have to focus on the whole team. They’re a good team so we’ll be looking forward to it.

“I’ll be getting up nice and early to get my nice comfy seat on the bus! We’re all ready to go and we’re looking forward to it.”
