Jon Guthrie signs new two-year deal

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce that Jon Guthrie has signed a new two-year deal with an option for a third year. The 21-year-old has become the latest youngster to commit his future to the club and has signed initially until the summer of 2015.

Guthrie signed for Crewe from non-league Pewsey Vale in July 2012 and made his debut as a very late substitute against Swindon Town in October of that year. He went on to make his full debut away at Bournemouth before injury hampered his debut season.

Guthrie regained his first team place in a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park, Oldham, back in September and despite losing his place temporarily to Kelvin Mellor, has been an ever present at left-back for the last 10 matches.

Guthrie has made 19 first-team appearances during his Crewe career and can also play as a centre-half if needs be. He is yet to score his first goal for the Railwaymen.

Crewe Alexandra would like to congratulate Jon on his new contract with the Football Club.
