Duo Working Hard To Get Back

4 March 2014

Clayton and Coco hoping to be back before the end of the season

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that it remains in the balance if Ryan Colclough and Max Clayton will be fit enough to play again this season. The Alex boss remains confident that he could have the two talented teenagers back from injury in the decisive run-in but says he will not jeopardise their long term health by looking to rush them back.

Ryan Colclough is expected to be back ahead of Clayton after undergoing surgery for a double hernia. Clayton fractured his ankle in the club’s FA Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers.

Steve admitted: “It is difficult to judge when they will be fit enough to resume training or if they will play again this season.

“They are both running and working hard to get back as soon as they can. We will wait for them to be 100% right because they have missed the majority of the season. When they are fit they are fit.

“Max may be longer because of his ankle but he is working exceptionally hard. Ryan is expected to be back sooner and he has been in running at 8.30am.”
