Steve Davis targets a strong start to the new season but admits it will be tough
Steve Davis is targeting a positive start to the new season but admits that every point in League One will have to be earned. Crewe Alexandra start the 2014/15 season with an away game at newly promoted Fleetwood Town on August 9th. The season climaxes with a home fixture against Bradford City.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is our aim to make a good start and to give ourselves a solid base from which to build on.
“All the games are tough at this level and it is how you handle playing relentlessly, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday. You need a bit of luck as well with injuries and suspensions. It is all about how you cope because a league season is always demanding.
“The league is always our priority. Anything we do in the cup competitions is a bonus and we always take each competition seriously because we want to go as far as we can and it provides extra revenue for the club.
“I will do something differently this season and will be assessing each month. I want to involve all the staff and see what we have done well and where we can improve. I think that will allow us to plan and build.”
