No Rush On Goalkeeper

16 June 2014

Steve Davis says he won't be rushed in making any decisions this summer.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he won’t be rushed into bringing in another goalkeeper. The Alex boss is searching for a goalkeeper who is able to challenge Ben Garratt for the number one spot as well as conduct coaching sessions for the first team and the Academy.

He is working within a small target base. To find a goalkeeper to fit the criteria is certainly not easy and Davis is currently working on potential targets including Ian Bennett, Steve Simonsen and Scott Shearer.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “The situation with the goalkeeper is on-going. We have nothing sorted yet and I don’t envisage anything being sorted for at least another couple of weeks.

“I am in no particular rush on that because we want to get the right one in. We are continuing to have talks and will try to attract the right one here. “
