Defender set for Plainmoor trial with a view to loan

Crewe Alexandra's French defender Thierry Audel is set to team-up with League Two Torquay United for training ahead of a proposed loan move. The former Macclesfield man will train with the South Coast side for a short spell before the club's new manager Chris Hargreaves will decide on a loan deal.

Summer signing Audel has found it difficult to break into Steve Davis' first team at either right-back or centrally due to the form of those ahead of him. He has made just the one start in a 3-0 home defeat by Gillingham and he made a late sub appearance against Port Vale.
