£1,000 Raised At Bingo

Big thanks to all those who helped raise great total for Douglas Macmillan


and helped raised a fantastic £1,000 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice Charity. Steve Phillips and his trusted volunteers would like to thank all the supporters who attended the Christmas Bingo held in the Alexandra Suite



Steve would like to thank avid Alex, David Perks, for winning an on-line auction to purchase a signed Nick Powell shirt, with all proceeds going to the charity.



The Christmas bingo event was well attended by supporters and Steve was understandably delighted that he was able to raise such a total for such a worthy cause.



“With the help of the supporters and the club, we have been able to raise a total of £1,000 to present to the Dougie Mac and that is a tremendous achievement from everyone.


“I just thought it would be nice to have a get-together before Christmas and help raise some money for another charity. I wanted to do something for a different cause and I think everyone has been affected by cancer at some point, so the Douglas Macmillan Hospice was a natural choice.


“I recently presented Dennis Vickers with the cheque for a £1,000 and he was as delighted as I was with the total. The fans at Crewe Alexandra have been absolutely magnificent ever since we started the charity work here and I cannot thank them enough for their continued support.”

  The club’s goalkeeping coach starts his fundraising effort for 2014 with an opening night on February 1st in the Carlsberg Lounge. The local band, the Sway will be headlining on the night and tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for juniors. Tickets are available from the Crewe Alexandra Ticket Office. All proceeds will go to the Leukaemia Research and Caudwell Children charities as part of Steve’s London-to-Paris cycle journey.
