He aint' stopping! Pogba targets goals in run-in after successful return from knee injury

Last season’s leading scorer Mathias Pogba has told Crewe Alex Player that once ‘he finds the net again, he isn’t stopping.’ Everyone has been delighted to see the club’s Guinean International back on the pitch for Crewe following his five and half month lay-off through injury.

Crewe were dealt a massive blow in pre-season when the powerful Pogba suffered that serious knee injury against Manchester United in a friendly, especially after he had missed the tail end of the previous season with a thigh injury.

. stHe had hit 16 goals but was forced to miss the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley after suffering the injury against Preston North End on April 1

Pogba, 23, made his first start of the campaign in the 3-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend and it is testimony to his hard work during his rehab and his extraordinary fitness levels that he completed 87 minutes of the game.

Pogba absolutely thrives on playing football and he is determined to play a key part in the run-in to make sure we don’t finish in one of the four relegation places.

The former Wrexham striker told Crewe Alex Player: “I am very happy to be back playing and to be back in the team. It is even better when the team plays well and we get three points. Now we have to keep going like this because every game is important.

“No-one wants to finish in the relegation zone. We want to stay out of it now and move up the league to safety. I am fit and working hard every day.

Pogs added: “Of course goals are important to me because it helps the team. I know that when I get one, I’m not stopping.”
