Steve ponders loan move but has to be right

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he is still considering bringing players into the club on emergency loan but that he won’t rush into any decisions. The Alex boss has already gone on record to state that he would like to bring in an extra goalkeeper to offer competition and cover to Steve Phillips and Ben Garratt. He has also spoken of bringing in another forward following long-term injuries to youngsters’ Ryan Colclough and Max Clayton.

On potential new loan signings once the window re-opens this weekend, the Crewe manager said: “The loan market re-opens on the weekend but I am in no major rush to do anything. It is something that we have discussed but we have to make sure we get the right one or two in.

“I am happy with the squad we have and the way we have been performing and I have had no reason to change that at the moment. We can only see how we go and if we need to do something then we will.”
