Lauri Would Add To The Competition

Alex boss says Finn would only add more quality To our forward line

Steve Davis believes that Crewe Alexandra’s reputation for helping to produce good young players will be the deciding factor in whether we can sign Lauri Valle Dalla on a permanent contract. The Finn is currently on trial with the club and certainly impressed with two goals against Coventry City’s Under-21s on Monday.

The club would like the former Liverpool and Fulham striker to sign and the Alex boss believes that the attraction for Dalla Valle will be the attention to coaching.

Steve, who went on record on Tuesday to say that he would love to add the 23-year-old striker to his attacking options, told the club’s official web-site: “I think Lauri will look at it and think that he has an opportunity here.

“Crewe is renowned as a place to develop and improve and I think we are one of the best in the country for that, especially outside the top flight. Of course, finances could come into it but I’m sure Lauri just wants to come here and play football again on a regular basis.

“He is a great lad to work with and his infectious personality rubs off on the other players. If we can get Lauri in as well then there will be some real competition for places up there. We would look a lot healthier going forward.

“I am trying to get the best players in we can and build a strong squad for the remaining months of the season.”
