Ben Garratt on Saturday's crucial clash against Preston

Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Ben Garratt is confident that the club can get the result we will need to remain in League One. The club’s number one who has kept two clean-sheets in his last two outings against Colchester and Bristol City is expecting another tough game against an in-form Preston North End side but the England Youth International says the dressing room is up to the challenge.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Preston North End, Ben said: “Everyone is focussed on remaining in League One and we remain confident that we will do with it with the right result on Saturday. We certainly feel we are good enough to play at this level and we want to get this season out of the way and push on next year.

“We have had a few good performances of late and we need to take that into the final game. We are all staying positive because our recent form has given us this opportunity. With the point we got at Bristol, our destiny is in our own hands.

“We know Preston are a tough side, they are third and have been consistent all season, but every game is tough. There is a lot riding on this one and we will prepare as we always do and aim to get the three points.

“There is pressure on the game but we have had that for a few months now. We have been in the bottom four or just out all season. We have gone out and done our best and that is what we will do again on Saturday.

“We are fully concentrating on what we need to do. If we can win the game then that gives us the best chance of staying up. We have had a great couple of years as a club and we enjoy playing at this level and we all want to stay where we are.”
