Steve Davis has confirmed that the injury to Matt Tootle is not serious. The Widnes born full-back limped out of the 2-2 draw with Peterborough United on Saturday raising fears the Alex could be forced to do without 22-year-old.
But Davis says that Tootle has only suffered a dead leg and says he should be fine to line-up for the Alex against Walsall this weekend.
Steve told crewealex.net: “Toots suffered a blow on his hamstring midway through the first-half on Saturday. He tried to play on with it but it was getting progressively worse and he was forced off.
“Players have to make that judgement sometimes; we like them to try and play on with knocks but if they can’t that is fine. Hopefully because he came off early the injury won’t be too serious.
“He is already out running and wants to train later today, so he should be fine for the game on Saturday.”
