Ollie Happy With Oldham Run Out

23 September 2013

Midfielder glad to return to the team with a goal

Ollie Turton says he is looking for more goals after opening his account for the club in the 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic on Saturday. Turton netted his first goal in senior football early in the first-half to give the Alex the lead at Boundary Park.

While the Alex couldn’t hold on to the lead in the second-half, Turton feels the Alex can build on the draw and says they will be looking to push on from the point.

On a personal note, Ollie was pleased to be involved in first-team action again after missing out on a starting place in the opening games of the season.

Ollie told crewealex.net: “It was good to be back involved. I have been playing in the Under 21 games but the difference between that and the first-team games is huge. The games are so much quicker.

“I think I can improve on my performance, but I was happy to play in the game. I didn’t get too down when I wasn’t in the team at the start of the season, I just got my head down and worked hard.

“Bakes and Steve are always on at me to get in the box and try and score goals. Obviously Murph scored plenty of goals last season and hopefully I can chip in with a few. I have blazed quite a few over in the past so I was happy to see one go in this time!

“The lads worked so hard in the game and although I think we could have gone on to win the game, I think we will all take a draw. Hopefully we can build on the result.”
