Tootle could return this week if he can train Thursday
Steve Davis is hopeful that his consistent and versatile full-back Matt Tootle could return for this weekend’s trip to Notts County.
Tootle was ruled out of the club’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Gillingham last Saturday after suffering a re-occurrence of his dead leg. Tootle has stepped up his rehabilitation and was able to run again on it yesterday.
The boss wants the defender to return to training before Thursday if he is going to be considered for the trip to Meadow Lane.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Matt is improving all the time and he has been able to start running on it again so that is a positive sign.
“If he can return to training before Friday then he would be considered for selection. He has been one of our most consistent performers this season and although we have the worst defensive record in the league, he hasn’t made any costly mistakes.”
