Oliver Struggling With Dead Leg

30 October 2013

Alex hoping striker will be fit to face Bantams this weekend

"It was a real physical battle up there for him against some tough defenders and he was in a lot of collisions in he game. He suffered some bumps and bruises but we are hoping he will be okay to train and be available for Saturday."

Steve Davis told the club's official web-site: "Vadaine suffered a dead leg and is was swollen after the game and especially bad on Monday. That swelling has gone down a bit now but it is still sore and he has been unable to train.

The injury is improving and the boss is hoping that the hard working target man will be given the all-clear for the weekend clash with Bradford.

Oliver was facing his home town club at Bramall Lane and faced a real physical battle up against the likes of Harry Maguire and Matt Hill. A succession of knocks and collisions saw the former Lincoln City man pick up a nasty dead leg and he has been unable to train since.

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis is hoping that his striker Vadaine Oliver will be able to resume training this week and make himself available for selection after he suffered a leg injury against Sheffield United at the weekend.
