Boss To Look At Loans

Steve to look for improvement from outside after Blades defeat

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will re-enter the loan market for reinforcements after losing patience with some of his underperforming players. The Alex boss has already made a positive move for a young midfield player to bolster his options and the club are hoping to complete that loan signing later today.

The Alex boss says he will not stop there after fellow strugglers Sheffield United inflicted an eighth league defeat of the season with a 3-1 win on Saturday.

Davis says he will look to add another two or three players to his squad and could make others available for loan as he aims to reshuffle his options going forward.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We cannot keep saying the same things to them every week. There has to come a time where he say we have gone as far as we can with some of them for the moment and look to improve on what we have here.

“I have to act now or we will be so low in the table that it becomes too late. I have given them every opportunity to prove that they can play at this level and be consistent for us. They have all done reasonably okay but they have not been good enough to reach the standard we have set them.

He added: “We will look at what could be available to us. We will speak with our contacts in the game and if better is available then we would do it.”
