Steve says whole team need to start chipping in with goals

Alex boss Steve Davis says that training this week has been based around the attacking intent of his team. Steve was pleased with the defensive performance against Bradford City last weekend is looking for another shut-out against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup tomorrow, but wants his team to provide more of a goal threat.

The Alex have failed to score in nine games this season and Davis is looking for a vast improvement from all areas of the pitch.

Ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup tie, Steve told crewealex.net: “We defended well against Bradford and created some chances but I want us to be more of a threat.

“I want the forwards to be more dangerous and a lot of the work we did this week has been based around us creating chances, finishing and crossing into the box. We have focussed on our attacking play.

He added: “Although the responsibility is with the forwards to score goals, if they are finding it difficult then you need others to chip in. We need the defenders and midfielders to chip in with a few goals as well.”
