Game Of Patience With Loan Duo

29 May 2013

Steve says any move for Chuks and Brad out of his hands at the moment

Steve Davis admits that it will be something of a waiting game when it comes to trying to entice loan starlets Brad Inman and Chuks Aneke back to Crewe. The Alex boss has stated that he has been in constant contact with the players and their representatives, but says that it is still early in regards to their situation at their parent clubs Newcastle and Arsenal.

Aneke and Inman made a telling contribution in the club’s success last season, both featuring at Wembley and scoring crucial goals as Crewe lifted the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and finished mid-table on our return to League One.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We are keeping in close touch with the two players and their agents, but it is going to have to be a patient game with them. We will just have to wait and see.

“Chuks has another year on his contract at Arsenal and Brad has just been offered another year at Newcastle, so they will have to clarify their situation at their respective clubs. I am not sure which way they go. I know they enjoyed themselves here but they belong to Arsenal and Newcastle and I don’t know which direction they want to go in.

“I am not sure if their clubs would even let come or that they may look to play higher and look to go to the Championship if they are made available for loan again. It is still very early in the summer but it is something that is on-going.

“It is not something we can dictate the progress on.”
