Steve says mad hunt for players has already started

The ultimate dogfight for summer signings has started in earnest according to Steve Davis. The Crewe Alexandra boss and his assistant Neil Baker have been out on scouting missions watching players and he has revealed that he is after at least three quality players to improve his squad ahead of the pre-season.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I will be working with a similar budget but we have freed up some money for wages and I would like at least three quality players to help improve us. If we can improve on what we have then we will move forward.

“The loan players did really well for us last season, but any manager would prefer to have his own players that we can improve. We have been out looking for players and I and Neil (Baker) will be assessing who is available.

“We will do our best to see who is out there and available. The dogfight for players has already started and it will be another busy summer.”
