Bakes full of praise for Yeovil

Assistant manager Neil Baker has heaped praise on Gary Johsnon and Yeovil Town after the Glovers achieved promotion from League One.

Yeovil saw off Brentford 2-1 in the League One Play-Off Final last weekend to achieve promotion to the Championship, and Bakes describes the success as a fantastic achievement.

Neil told crewealex.net: “It is an unbelievable achievement at an unfashionable club. Ten years ago they were in the non-league and their progression shows what can be done under good guidance and good management.

“They have selected the right kind of players and played the right brand of football. Gary had a spell at Bristol City that didn’t quite work out for him but it looks like Yeovil is a special place for him.

“It shows that just because you are small club and have small gates you can still have success if you can mould a group of players in to a team.”
