Centre-half says he is as fit as ever as he enter final stages of closed season
. It is the first time that Ellis has been asked to report in for training to help with his core strengthening, conditioning, weight training and fitness during his career and he feels it is the way forward.thMark Ellis says he has seen the benefit from participating in twice-weekly summer sessions and cannot wait for the pre-season to start on a full-time basis on June 25
Mark told the club’s official web-site: “I think it has been good to come in over the summer and keep ticking things over. I’ve never done it before in my career and I have definitely benefitted from doing the sessions. I think I will really see the benefits when the pre-season starts.
“I think players in the modern game struggle a bit if they go on holiday and don’t really do too much. I enjoyed my first season here and I am learning all the time, especially with the gaffer (Steve Davis) being a centre-half himself when he played.
We have high standards here and the work we have all done over the summer reflects that.” “I am learning from the coaching staff and just want to build on what I achieved last season. I just want to do as well as I can for the club and for myself.
