Harry: "We Haven't Gelled Yet"

22 July 2013

Harry Davis pleased to get 90 minutes but says there is work to be done

Harry Davis returned from a recent dead leg to play a full 90 minutes at Chester on Saturday and duly scored from the penalty spot in the club’s 1-1 draw, but the defender was left deflated by the performance and result.

Harry told Crewe Alex player: “It was nice to get a run out and complete 90 minutes. That was beneficial to me personally but overall we were disappointed with the result and much of the performance.

“Although it was a pre-season game, we need to be better than that. No disrespect to Chester but we should be going to places like that and dominating the game but we didn’t. The only way we will improve on that is to work hard.

“You just have to crack on, get your hard down and work as hard as you can to turn things around as quickly as you can.

“We have some new players and perhaps we haven’t gelled yet. They will need time to adapt and to fit in to what we are doing but they will learn that soon enough.”
