Could Moore Be The Key?

21 January 2013

Boss full of praise for the recent form of his flying winger Bryon Moore

Alex boss Steve Davis is hoping Byron Moore can continue with his rich vein of form and become the key player in our end of season run. The Crewe boss has been impressed with the winger’s recent performance with his equalising goals against Leyton Orient and Bradford City in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and his creativity in the final third. It was Moore’s superb cross that was headed in by substitute Max Clayton against the Bantams that put the Railwaymen on the road to victory.

Davis says that Moore has all the ingredients to follow a host of our former players into the Championship or top flight.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Byron is a quiet lad but a really likeable lad as well. He always works hard in training but he just lacks that real consistency in his performances at the moment. It is up to us to try and get that out of him on a regular basis. Dario has tried and now it is my challenge.

“It is a challenge for me to try and unlock the incredible talent that he has. We have all seen it, but perhaps not see it enough because he has everything. He has the ingredients to become a top player and play in the Championship or Premiership. He has the ability to do that.

He has produce on a regular basis but he is still relatively young and can do it. “It is also up to him to find it within him. That real drive and determined belongs to the player and he has to find that to succeed more often than not in games.

“I was talking to him the other day and was telling him that everyone should be talking about him as the next one to possibly go on. We should be talking about him in the same vein of Murph, or before him Nick, Westy and others, because he has ability to match them. He could be an exceptional player for us."
