All Quiet In Window

15 January 2013

Steve Davis pleased he that his phone remains silent

Steve Davis is keeping his fingers crossed that the January transfer window remains a quiet affair. Davis is hoping to avoid any transfer speculation regarding any of his prized assets, so his side can remain focussed on enjoying a successful season.

The Alex boss says he has not heard anything regarding any of his players nor he is particularly looking to add to his own squad with more loan players. He is pleased with his group and will keep faith with them with three and half months of the season to go.

Steve told crewealex.net: “It has been quiet so far this month and long may that continue. I have heard nothing and I want to keep it that way. I don’t want any speculation or transfer rumours circulating about our players.

“You just don’t know what may happen. Nothing happens and you could suddenly receive a bid on deadline day, like we did for Westy. You have to prepare if that happens the best you can.

“I am pleased with the squad I have haven’t been making any phone calls. If you bring someone in on loan from a Premiership or Championship club then you have to really play them and it is difficult to leave them out, so I am happy with what we have at the moment.

“The three lads have come in on loan and done really well for us, so it hasn’t been a problem but it could be if they don’t play well enough to stay in.”
