Alex delighted as we close on on Inman signing!
Crewe Alexandra are extremely close to finally securing the services of the Newcastle United midfielder Bradden Inman. The club have offered the Australian a three-year deal and have agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old. Crewe have been chasing the attacking midfielder for much of the summer after he impressed on loan last season by scoring 8 goals in his 26 appearances.
The club are now just waiting on the official finance agreement from Newcastle after the Premier League made agreement on a transfer fee. The clubs have avoided a tribunal scenario and if it can be concluded soon, Inman could be travelling to Leyton Orient for this weekend’s clash.
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site: “It is really close now and we are confident that it will finalised over the next couple of days. It isn’t completely done and dusted because we are waiting for the finance agreement from Newcastle.
"Newcastle have been good about things. We have both been up front and honest about things and the relationship has been good. They rejected a number of our bids, which they are fully entitled to do. We got there in the end.
“I think we have got him for the right fee and there is a sell-on for Newcastle as well, which is only right because if he becomes the player we think he will and goes on then they have helped with his development as well. “
