Duggy Loan?

20 August 2013

Adam Dugdale could be one of a few fringe players to go out on loan

Steve Davis has told the club’s official that he may choose to loan out some of his fringe players in order for them to gain competitive action. The Crewe Alexandra boss has spent the summer increasing the competition within the squad and this could allow one or two to leave on a temporary basis.

Defender Adam Dugdale could be one set to go out on loan for a short time after finding his first-team chances restricted due to the emergence of the club’s Wales Under-21 defender George Ray.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I may loan one or two players out because some of them need some game time. I think they would benefit from having that real intensity of competitive matches.

“There are some of them I have spoken to them and understandably they want to be playing and are eager for game time. It is getting that balance right and making sure we don’t weaken the squad by agreeing to do that.

“I have spoken to Duggy because I have four centre-halves and I can only play two unless we go to three at the back. He wants to play. He missed the last two months of the season for personal reasons and he understandably wants to get back into it.

“It will depend on who needs a centre-half at this time of the season.”
