Accrington Stanley In The JPT

17 August 2013

Alex begin defence of Trophy with a home tie.

Crewe Alexandra will begin their defence of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a home tie against Accrington Stanley after the draw for the First Round was made this morning live on Soccer AM.

The meeting at Gresty Road will see summer signing Lee Molyneux line-up against his former club, and will be the first meeting between the two clubs since goals from Max Clayton and Luke Murphy gave the Alex a 2-0 win over Stanley back in February 2012.

Of course boss Steve Davis and his squad will be going all out for another cup run in the tournament after the Wembley success that the Railwaymen experienced last term.

The tie will be played in the week commencing September 2nd, and ticket details for the game will be announced in due-course.
