Goalkeeper happy to extend stay beyond January

Alan Martin says he has been encouraged by the news want to sit down and talk about a new contract. The likeable Scot only has three months to run on his current deal but Steve Davis is keen to extend his stay at the Alexandra following his excellent start to the season.

 

Martin, who was border line to be released in the summer, has excelled this season, in the absence of the injured Steve Phillips. Despite Phillips returning to training this week, Martin is in possession of the number one jersey and will take some shifting.

 

 Alan said: “It is good to hear that the manager wants to sort something out. I want to stay here and keep playing and progressing.
