Davis On Returing Players

12 October 2012

Boss delighted to have further options in his squad

Moore and Osman are set to travel to Portsmouth later today, but the trip to the South Coast may have come a little early for Phillips and West. Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager says the return to fitness of Byron Moore, Abdul Osman, Steve Phillips and Michael West will provide him with selective options for the first time in a while.

Ryan Colclough is ruled out until the New Year with a broken jaw.

The Alex manager told crewealex.net: “To have most of our players available for selection again has been a long-time coming. It has been difficult with naming the squad because we have had to go with who is fit and available for a while.

“We have the likes of Pogs back now and the return of Byron and Abdul gives us extra options. We also have Steve and Michael back training with us and they will increase the competition within the squad.

He added: “We will make a final assessment of the squad today and see who we are going to take away with us this weekend. It is good to have them back with us.”
