Joel Looking Forward To His Return

2 November 2012

Grant excited about coming back to Gresty Road

Former Crewe winger Joel Grant says he is looking forward to his return to the Alexandra Stadium tomorrow afternoon. Grant had a three-year spell with the Railwaymen between 2008 and 2011, but left for Wycombe last summer and will be making his return to South Cheshire tomorrow afternoon.

Grant is determined to impress upon his return and, but he says his current side will be in for a tough afternoon against the Railwaymen.

Joel told Wycombe Wanderers Player: “I am looking forward to going back. I had three good years at Crewe, so it will be nice to go back but hopefully get the win. Crewe gave me my chance in the league. We will go into the game as underdogs, but hopefully we can put on a show and get a result.

“Some might say I did well at Crewe, and some might say differently. But I am looking forward to going there and showing what I can do. I have seen Crewe play away from home since I left, but I haven’t been back to Gresty Road, so it will be nice to go back and hopefully I can show how much I’ve improved.

“It will be tough though because Crewe are an energetic side who like to pass it around. With Steve Davis taking over they have become more physical. But they still have some good young players who I am sure will go higher.”
