Alex boss praises Saunders work following a disappointing last season

Steve Davis says that an ambitious Dean Saunders will be looking to take his Doncaster Rovers side back into the npower Championship at the first time of asking. Rovers were relegated last season but have been able to retain some very talented players for this level of football and they will be amongst the favourites for promotion this season.

Ahead of this evening’s trip to the impressive Keepmoat Stadium, Steve told us: “I’m sure Dean will be like he was a player. He was always ambitious and played at a very high level. He will want to be a success at everything he does and he will want to take them back into the Championship.

“He has a strong squad and good players and they will be thinking about promotion. They will want the play-offs at the very least and Dean has done a good job there after the disappointment of relegation. They have bounced back well and it will be another tough game for us.”
