Davis Prepared To Make Changes

19 November 2012

Steve Davis says he will assess his squad in advance of Sheffield trip

Crewe Alexandra have no fresh injury worries ahead of tomorrow night’s tough trip to Sheffield United. Young striker Max Clayton made a successful return to first-team action as a second half substitute following a groin strain and has been given the all-clear for the trip to Bramall Lane.

Crewe will be without AJ Leitch-Smith (ankle), Kelvin Mellor (knee) and Michael West (illness) in facing the Blades, but the trio are improving.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We have no fresh injury worries, but are unlikely to have anyone back either. Westy has the best chance but this game may have come around too quickly for him.

“We will continue to assess the team and see how they perform in training. If one or two stand out then I will make some tactical changes. I would be prepared to do that. I think I have the best players available out there at the minute but we need more from them. “
