Alex boss says players are capable of upset at Keepmoat

Steve Davis says his players will have to play for their full potential if we are going to take anything away from a tough trip to Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium this evening. The Alex boss is looking forward to his team testing themselves against one of the top teams in npower League One but after previous wins over Swindon and Coventry, he believes his team can cause an upset against Dean Saunders’ in-form side.

Doncaster are currently in 5th place in the division and are on an unbeaten run of six games in all competitions.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Doncaster are one of the in-form teams in the league and are unbeaten in six matches. They are another of the big clubs in the league and Dean will be hoping to lead them back into the Championship this season.

“They are an ambitious club, with a decent budget and very good players. We know it will be tough and challenge for us, but they are all are at this level. We are quickly finding out that you have to work hard to get anything from any game in League One.

“We face them in good form as well and that is something we have faced all season as well, but we have had a fantastic result against Swindon and beaten Coventry, so we know we can compete against the bigger clubs.

He added: “I’ve said all season that if we can be consistent in the games and play to our potential then there is no reason why we cannot get s result. We will have to be close to our best to contain them and create chances, but we are capable of it.”
