We Have Played Better And Lost

Steve pleased with points total but is still after improvement

Steve Davis readily admitted that his Crewe Alexandra side have played better and lost this season after a late goal from the on-loan Brad Inman sealed all three points for the Railwaymen. Inman stole in to convert a superb cross from Luke Murphy to lift Crewe into 11th in League One.

After a narrow 1-0 win, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I was just pleased to get the three points and pass that 30 point mark. We are on 33 points and that is a good return for what has been a tough half of the season.

“We have played better than that and lost, so I was pleased to get the points because it was a very even game and Bury worked very hard and deserved at least a point.

“We have something to build on but there is half the season to go. Once we get over the Christmas games, which will come thick and fast then we can reassess and see where we can end up in April.”
