Alex boss Steve Davis on his keeper's fitness

Crewe Alex boss Steve Davis has confirmed that goalkeeper Alan Martin missed the Boxing Day defeat at Tranmere Rovers through illness. Martin has been feeling unwell for the past week and has spent time at home recovering.

Steve Phillips replaced Martin for the 2-1 loss, and he is set to continue to in goal should Martin not recover in time for the trip to Oldham on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Abdul Osman came through the game unscathed, while Kelvin Mellor and Ajay Leitch-Smith are both pushing for a return.
