An Important Part Of The Season

20 December 2012

Toots determined to keep run going over the Festive season

Defender Matt Tootle has told crewealex.net that a good Christmas could be vital to Crewe’s chances of success in League One. Going in to festive season Crewe sit in 11th place in League One, but are just four points off the Play-Off places.
Like everyone associated with the Railwaymen, Tootle needs little reminding of how crucial a run of results can be following Crewe’s success in League Two last season. He is now determined to get Crewe on a run over Christmas, starting with Saturday’s tough game with Bournemouth.
Toots told crewealex.net: “We have got ourselves right in the mix now. Steve and Bakes have got really high standards and we as a club are always looking to do better. When we are in a mid-table position, they are still saying we are not doing well enough, which makes us all think we need to push on.
“At this stage of the season a good run can take you right up there , or on the other hand a bad run can see you struggling. It can go either way so it is a really important part of the year for us so we need to make sure we pick up some points.
“I don’t really know a lot about Bournemouth, but I know Eddie Howe has come back and turned things around there. It will be a tough game but hopefully we can keep our home form going and get a good start to the Christmas Period.”
