Finney penned a Crewe Alexandra pro deal during his scholarship and progressed to the first team squad summer 2016 after successfully graduating from the academy.

The 21-year-old was a mainstay in the U18 and U23 central midfield positions and he was rewarded with a senior squad number in February 2016.

Finney was a regular in the U23 set-up for the past two seasons & will hope to broke into the first team more regularly last season after making his pro debut as a substitute in the 4-1 victory over Barnet on the final day of 2016/17.

In total, he made 19 outings in 2018/19, & now handed the number 14 shirt he’ll look to appear much more regularly in the Alex midfield.
