Pickering signed pro terms during 2015/16 whilst still an Alex scholar due to his impact in U18 & U23 matches.
The 19-year-old made his first team debut against Leyton Orient at the tail end of 2016/17 & made his first start in August 2017 in a 1-1 draw with Newport County.
Comfortable at left-back or anywhere along the midfield, Pickering was a regular contributor in the U23’s of goals & assists in 2016/17 before making the step-up to first team last year.
In his breakthrough campaign, Pixie made 40 appearances & scored three goals in all competitions & has been handed the number three shirt ahead of 2018/19.
