Cooper is an Alex academy graduate winger who made the leap from first year scholar to pro at the climax of the 2013/14 season.
Highly regarded by the Crewe Academy, Cooper impressed for the U23’s early part of 2014/15 and was moved into the first team squad, scoring his first senior goal with a spectacular free-kick in a 2-1 victory over Coventry City in October 2014.
Cooper went on to make 25 first team appearances that season, mostly as a substitute, and added to his goal tally with strikes against Crawley and Preston.
Cooper’s fine debut season saw him named as League One’s Young Apprentice of the Year at the Football League awards in April 2015.
The 20-year-old made a less prominent impact in 2015/16, but still chipped in with 30 appearances, scoring one goal, ahead of what was an impressive 2016/17.
Making 53 appearances, scoring ten goals & getting 14 assists, Cooper was a key performer & big things are expected again in 2017/18.
