The Crewe born defender re-joined the Alex for a second bell during the 2022 summer transfer window after a short stint at Carlisle United.

Having amassed over 350 career appearances, the experienced Mellor will play a pivotal role in Alex Morris’ side and will try and emulate his first spell at the club which proved to be a huge success.

Mellor’s impact has been evident at the start of the 2022/23 campaign, playing a key role away at Rochdale in our season opener and scoring on his second home debut against Harrogate Town in a 3-0 victory.
