The former full Republic of Ireland international joined Crewe in summer 2017 after being released by League One side Blackpool.

Nolan began his career at Blackburn Rovers having graduated through the academy, but failed to appear for the Club. He instead gained loan experience at Stockport, Hartlepool & Preston before joining North End permanently in 2009.

After 46 Championship appearances in two years at Deepdale, he moved to Scunthorpe United in 2010 where he spent five successful years, making 137 appearances.

The 31-year-old left the Iron in summer 2015 & things didn’t go to plan over the following two seasons prior to joining Crewe, the versatile defender hardly featuring in year-long stays at York City & Blackpool.

That all changed in his first season at Gresty Road. ‘Steady Eddie’ made 47 appearances in all competitions & was named the Supporters’ & Players’ Player of the Season.

He continued to feature as a regular in 2018/19, making 36 appearances in all competitions before being handed the number six shirt for his third season at the Club.
