The former Crewe Alexandra captain Kenny Lunt was appointed as assistant manager to David Artell after Steve Davis left the club in January 2017. Lunt, 37, came through the Academy ranks at Crewe Alexandra to make his debut in August 1997 away at Swindon Town.
Lunt made 436 appearances for the Railwaymen during three spells, scoring 36 goals. He helped the club regain our Championship status in 2003 before securing a move to Sheffield Wednesday in 2006. He made 48 games for the Owls and during his time there, he spent two loan spells back at Gresty Road. He signed for Hereford United in the summer of 2009 and he went on to make a further 126 appearances for the Bulls before seeing out his playing days at Bala Town.
Lunt made 611 career appearances, scoring 39 goals in all competitions from midfield.
Lunt was a youth coach at Crewe before becoming the Youth Team manager in the wake of James Collins' promotion to the first-team. Lunt's vast experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect assistant to Artell.
