The Alex swooped to sign Walker for an undisclosed fee in summer 2017 from Hartlepool United after their relegation out of the EFL.

The 23-year-old can play as a central midfielder or centre-half.

He graduated through the youth set-up at Hartlepool, going pro in 2013 & making 123 appearances for the Club, scoring ten goals, before leaving to link up with Dave Artell at The Alex.

Walker endured a mixed first season at Gresty Road, featuring regularly in the opening months of the campaign, before fading away for the run-in & finding minutes on the pitch hard to come by.
