‘Let’s stick together for run-in’ – boss

11 March 2024

Crewe Alexandra’s players, staff and supporters must remain together as they approach the final 10 games of the season.

That’s according to boss Lee Bell, who believes a united front is vital after suffering back-to-back league defeats for just the second time in 2023-24.

All attention is now directed to the visit of Sutton United tomorrow (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

Bell said: “We won’t achieve anything unless we are all pulling in the same direction.

“We need relax and review it, and get ready to go again on Tuesday. There are loads of positives – we'd accumulated the most points in the division since the turn of the year before the Doncaster game.

“The fans are with us, they see the effort that’s going into everything and they appreciate the position we are in. We have to give them things to shout about.”

He added: “It’s a quick turnaround to the Sutton game. I’ve told the players that if any of them are not feeling 100%, and not able to churn out the type of performance we are after, they need to let us know.

“We are trying to get up a mountain and we won’t do it on our own, we have to do it together.

“We have to relish it and love it. Yes, we’ve had a setback but let’s find out the reasons why. Let’s not fight about it, let’s sort it out.

“We all want to be successful so we have to carry on trying to be better every time we get on the pitch.”

Crewe are fifth in League Two with 10 games to go. Click here to buy your tickets.
