Boss hopes for good news on Baker-Richardson

13 March 2024

Lee Bell is hoping for good news on Courtney Baker-Richardson over the next 24 hours.

The striker suffered an injury in the first 30 seconds of last night’s 1-0 victory over Sutton United and was supporting his left arm as he left the pitch.

Manager Bell admitted there are fears he has suffered a fracture or dislocation.

But he hoping that doesn’t prove to be the case once medical checks have been completed.

Bell said: “I’m absolutely gutted for him. He looks like he’s hurt his shoulder – whether it’s a dislocation or a break, we don’t know yet.

“Nev (Elliott Nevitt) has started 10 on the bounce and Courtney’s attitude has been really good. He got his start and then that's happened, so I'm gutted for him on a personal level.

“Fingers crossed we get some good news.”

Baker-Richardson has scored 10 goals in 27 starts this season.
